If

If you won’t talk to certain people because of your “faith”…

If people won’t approach you because you have made it clear they aren’t in your circle…

If others think you are (in the words of a pastor I adore) so heavenly minded you are no earthly good…

If you find yourself trying to separate yourself from everyone outside your church…

If you think faith has made you, if not perfect, then at least better than most of the people around you…

If you have decided that you are good and others are not…

If you ask someone questions about their life so you can gossip about them later, perhaps under the heading of “prayer requests”…

If you make jokes about people outside your faith, assigning stereotypes and mocking them…

If you toss entire sections of the population aside based on a value you ascribed to them before you ever meet them…

If you think of people in terms of one chapter of their story, one feature of their life or one bad choice, and figure you know enough to dislike them…

If you wear your Christian logo t-shirts, and wear a fish around your neck but walk right by someone because their clothes aren’t trending at your church…

If you treat a stranger with dignity only when it’s a mission, but never just because they are a person…

If you won’t allow yourself to think about the inside of you that doesn’t quite match the “holy” facade on the  outside of you…

If people think you hate them because you love Jesus…

If others begin to hate the name of Jesus because you have preached hate in the name of Jesus…

..then you’re doing it wrong.

Just sayin’

Authentically yours,
Skye
